How You Can Achieve Your Body Goals This Year with SculpSure

SculpSure, McHugh Plastic Surgery

If you’re one of the millions who’ve placed a better body at the top of your list of resolutions this year, you should arm yourself for success. Sitting in the top three positions for New Year’s resolutions for 2019 are diet, exercise, and losing weight. Unfortunately, studies show that only 8% of those who make new year’s resolutions are able to keep them.

Here at McHugh Plastic Surgery, we want our clients in The Woodlands, Texas, area to claim victory this year and figure among the elite 8% who successfully achieve their goals. If an improved body shape is on your list, here’s how we can help with SculpSure®.

The fight against fat

In order to wage war, it helps to better understand your enemy — in this case, fat. There are many myths when it comes to the behavior of fat, so let’s break down what we know.

First, it’s a myth that your body creates additional fat cells when you gain weight. Throughout your life, you generally carry the same number of fat cells in your body. This means that when you gain or lose weight, your existing fat cells become larger or smaller, respectively, so you’re always battling the same number.

Another myth is that you’re able to target your weight loss efforts, which is patently untrue. Your body is governed by biological directives that dictate where you store fat, and you can’t override this process. For example, women are more prone to carry fat around their pelvic regions to protect their reproductive organs.

When you embark on a weight loss program, your body chooses where it sheds fat, and it may not be according to your plan.

How SculpSure can help

Now that we’ve identified the problem with fat and why it leads to stubborn pockets that resist your every effort, let’s explore how SculpSure can solve the problem. The first thing you should be aware of is that SculpSure is not a weight loss program. You should get to within your target weight first, and then rely on SculpSure to close the gap to your ideal body shape.

With SculpSure, we’re able to work around your biological directives and target fat in specific areas, such as your:

Using SculpSure, we deliver laser energy into the fat cells in your target areas, which absorb the energy as heat, effectively destroying them. We can eliminate up to 24% of your fat cells in your treatment sites, and they don’t regenerate. Rest assured, the laser energy passes harmlessly through your skin to reach the fat cells below.

The big reveal

Once you’re ready for SculpSure, we meet with you to figure out the best treatment plan. Most of our patients undergo 3-5 treatments, which we space out by several weeks to allow time for your body to process the destroyed fat cells and for your skin to resettle over your slimmer shape.

About 6-12 weeks after your final SculpSure session with us, you’ll achieve your optimal results. Bear in mind that the fat cells left behind can still grow larger, so you’ll need to be diligent about protecting your results through a maintenance program of diet and exercise.

If you’d like the final push to your body shape goal this year, call us to set up your SculpSure appointment. Or you can use the online scheduling tool.
